Using Data to Lead for Equity in Early Childhood

This presentation examined what it means to lead with data for equity in early intervention and early childhood special education. The importance of asking equity questions about each aspect of the service delivery process from initial referral through transition was discussed. How data leaders embed equity throughout the data use life cycle including planning, data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting, and data use was described. Two examples of how states are using data to examine equity issues were presented.

This presentation provides Part C and Part B 619 staff with an introduction to the importance of data leadership in promoting equity.
