The Consumer’s Guide to Data

This brief lays out several strategies to use and report data in ways that increase trust and confident decision-making. The strategies are targeted to data producers, data consumers, and decisionmakers. Many of the strategies revolve around the principles of asset framing, data interrogation, and context sharing.

Part C and Part B 619 staff can use these tips to increase trust and clarity in publicly reported data and encourage appropriate use of data, particularly when data about historically underserved groups are presented.
