March 2023. Need practical strategies for evaluating how practitioners are doing with implementing evidence-based practices? Not sure what to do with all the data you’ve already collected? Not sure where to start?
This session explored available Child Outcomes Summary (COS) resources that help teams focus on functionality, cover the breadth of the outcomes, develop age-anchoring skills, determine ratings with the decision tree, and engage families in COS conversations. Participants discovered how these resources can improve, refresh, or refine team implementation of the COS process. Professional development providers and technical assistance staff using these resources shared strategies for practical implementation of quality learning activities for busy practitioners.
Tips to address challenges in COS conversations were gathered from family members and practitioners. This presentation summarized those tips and highlighted related resources to incorporate those tips into Child Outcomes Summary (COS) team discussions.
This presentation provides an introduction to qualitative data collection and analysis, including methods for incorporating equity considerations. It provided information about designing effective qualitative data collection instruments and about using thematic analysis techniques to analyze qualitative data.
The COS-KC assessment checks if practitioners have background knowledge needed to participate in a high-quality Child Outcomes Summary process. These presentation slides are from an IDIO Conference session introducing the COS-KC and helping state staff consider how the COS-KC might enhance their outcomes data collection and professional development activities.
