The report emphasizes the importance of empathy in data presentation and communicating with those represented in the data about presentation issues. The report addresses a variety of data visualization issues such as choices about color, ordering data, icons, language, small samples sizes, and how to address missing data. It contains a concise set of highly useable recommendations and a checklist for data communicators. The recommendations and the checklist are available as standalone documents.
Part C and Part B 619 staff can use this resource to improve their data visualization especially when the data are identified by racial or ethnic groups.
