Having a robust stakeholder engagement plan is crucial. As states work to engage a broad range of stakeholders on an ongoing basis, virtual strategies and methods continue to be important—even as face-to-face gatherings increase. Some state teams may be concerned about the new stakeholder requirements for state performance plans/annual performance reports related to engaging a broad range of individuals on an ongoing basis. During this session, participants learned to identify different levels of stakeholder engagement, use virtual and in-person strategies aligned to each level, and use a protocol for effective teaming. Participants took away strategies to engage stakeholders for informing, networking, and collaborating with their state teams.
