This presentation is focused on the privacy and security of data in the early childhood sector. State teams were invited to participate in an all-day training where they learned about FERPA and HIPAA implications for early childhood integrated data systems, developed drafts of data sharing agreements with their state team, learned why data mapping is an important aspect of ensuring privacy and confidentiality of their data, reviewed recent guidance on transparency and reflected/reviewed their state’s approach to transparency of data systems, and discussed the implications of multi-agency data breaches through scenario based activities.
