This keynote discussed the importance of understanding systemic influences and the implications of this approach for working with data. Key concepts to consider in thinking about the use of data to identify factors underlying inequities were presented. Dr. Smith stressed the importance of considering equity throughout design, data collection, analysis, reporting and use phrases. Foundational concepts related to equity and data were discussed.
