This is a voluntary data collection system that gathers information from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico about reports of child abuse and neglect. The data are used to examine trends in child abuse and neglect across the country. This data collection provides state level data on the number of children who were eligible to be referred to Part C and the number of children who were actually referred (Tables 6-9). This data can aid states to examine their current performance and states can use this data to facilitate discussions on how to improve child find practices that contribute to the state’s performance. Users can access relevant data in the Child Maltreatment reports linked on the site, which summarize data from NCANDS.
