On January 19, 2017, The U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services released a joint statement providing recommendations to states, territories, and tribal entities on how to identify and enhance opportunities for collaboration and coordination between MIECHV and IDEA Part C Programs. The statement includes an overview of both programs, current opportunities for collaboration between the programs to develop a comprehensive system of care, examples of effective collaboration in several states, and eight recommendations for states to follow.
