In this webinar, participants learned about state-researcher partnerships to examine state-level trends regarding service provision to diverse children, as well as the development of policy recommendations that reduce such concerns.
Presenters discussed ongoing collaboration between the Oregon Department of Education and researchers at University of Oregon and Oregon Health and Sciences University, using state-level data systems to characterize variability in access to EI/ECSE in early intervention (Part C) and early childhood special education (Part B).
Presenters shared findings of two studies that used Oregon’s EI/ECSE electronic records system to examine differences in referrals, evaluation, and eligibility placement by children’s ethnicity and home language background, and shared how this collaboration may result in solutions aimed at enhancing equity in Oregon’s EI/ECSE systems.
